The 做TV Memorial Union is back open after two years of construction with a new look that harkens back to the buildings beginning. The $23.5 million project replaced divided rooms with open lounge space, and a two-story atrium has been added on the north side.

Were going back and respecting the original architect, said Greg Secor, senior project manager with Design and Construction Management. This returns the intent to 1955.

A wall covered in reclaimed redwood is dedicated to Gold Star Aggies those who died in military service to the United States with a plaque bearing their names and a prominent display for the Golden Memory Book, which contains the names of all Aggies who have died in military service. Veterans services have also been moved into the Memorial Union.

Next, the North Courtyard will be renovated starting later this year, and Freeborn Hall, closed since 2014, will receive seismic repairs and will be converted into an events and conference center.
