Arrest Following Kidnapping and Assault

��TV police have arrested a suspect following an assault and kidnapping reported last Monday, Aug. 12. James Garvin surrendered at the ��TV police department at 5 p.m., Aug. 20. He was booked at Yolo County jail on charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault with great bodily injury.

Suspect Still At Large as Shelter in Place Is Lifted

Updated 5:50 a.m.: Police have concluded their search for the suspect in a stabbing that took place in the city of Davis overnight and lifted the shelter in place order. The suspect was not located.

Arrest Made in Alleged Brandishing of Weapon

A woman sought by campus police on suspicion of brandishing a handgun at a facilities staff member at ��TV West Village earlier this week has been arrested and charged with brandishing an imitation firearm, police said.

The alleged brandishing occurred between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 25). Police issued a crime alert saying: “Victim was confronted by a suspect who brandished a black handgun at him and rode away on a bicycle.”

The chiefs of the ��TV Police Department and the city of Davis Police Department issued the following joint statement Thursday (May 28):

The death of George Floyd:

An entire country suffered deep wounds on the streets of Minneapolis. We are all profoundly saddened and our hearts are broken.

We want the entire Davis and ��TV community to know that what we saw was unacceptable and that we train and demand that our officers do much better.
